Sam joined Chambers in October 2024, following the successful completion of his pupillage under the supervision of Simon Atrill KC, Rupert Allen, and Christopher Langley.
Sam has a broad commercial practice and has recently acted in matters involving construction, energy, international arbitration, financial services, aviation, and professional discipline.
Sam is often led by leading counsel (both within and outside Chambers), as well as acting as sole counsel in the County Court and High Court. Sam’s practice also includes work in other jurisdictions, having acted in appellate proceedings in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and worked on arbitrations in Bermuda and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
Acting (led by Richard Coleman KC) for the respondent in in a high-profile test case for alleged ‘SLAPPs’ in the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SRA v Gill). Sam acted in the respondent’s successful summary dismissal application, a rare instance in which certified SDT proceedings were dismissed without proceeding to a substantive hearing. Acting (led by Anneliese Day KC) in a one-week gas price review arbitration (ICC).
Acting (led by Rupert Allen KC) in an ongoing aircraft leasing dispute (Commercial Court).
Acting (as sole counsel) for the claimant in two ongoing cross-border debt claims (total value US$4 million+) (Circuit Commercial Court).
Drafting advice on merits of a claim arising out of the acquisition of a counterfeit Picasso painting (during pupillage).
Acting (led by Rupert Allen KC) in an ongoing aircraft leasing dispute (Commercial Court).
Acting (as sole counsel) for the claimant in two ongoing cross-border debt claims (Circuit Commercial Court, total value $4m+).
Acting in ongoing s. 90/90A FSMA proceedings in the Financial List.
Acting (led by Laura John KC) for the claimants in ongoing proceedings concerning alleged breaches of share purchase warranties and directors’ duties (Chancery Division). The proceedings have also involved issues relating to W&I insurance and private credit.
Advising mezzanine noteholders in a major corporate insolvency.

Sam is also acting in an ongoing share purchase dispute in the Chancery Division which involves W&I insurance issues.

During pupillage, Sam assisted other members of Chambers with cases being heard in the Abu Dhabi Global Market and the Dubai International Financial Centre.
As a tenant, Sam has also assisted with a SIAC-seated construction arbitration and acted in a two-day construction appeal in the Court of Appeal of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas (both led by Anneliese Day KC).
