Following three days of hearings, the Court of Appeal has overturned six convictions of those convicted of alleged manipulation of the London Inter-bank Offered Rate (LIBOR) and the Euro Inter-bank Offered Rate (EURIBOR).

The decisions followed the judgment of the Supreme Court last year, overturning the convictions of Tom Hayes and Carlo Palombo.

Katherine Hardcastle acted for three of the former traders (Jay Merchant, Jonathan Mathew and Philippe Moryoussef) leading Tim James-Mathews of Matrix Chambers. Katherine also acted for Christian Bittar, led by Adrian Darbishire KC and Tom Doble of QEB. She was instructed in all four cases by Ben Rose, Tom Bushnell and Nisha Patel from Hickman & Rose. In the Supreme Court, Katherine appeared for Carlo Palombo, led by Tim Owen KC (Matrix Chambers) and Jonathan Crow KC (4 Stone Buildings), leading Tim James-Mathews and Lizzie Walsh (4 Stone Buildings).
