Fountain Court is delighted to announce that at the Global Investigations Review (GIR) annual awards ceremony in Washington D.C. the “Most Important Court Case of the Year” for 2025 was awarded to the legal teams involved in securing the landmark UK Supreme Court victory for Tom Hayes and Carlo Palombo, which quashed their convictions for conspiracy to defraud in relation to alleged manipulation of LIBOR/EURIBOR benchmark rates.
Katherine Hardcastle acted for Carlo Palombo, instructed by Hickman & Rose Solicitors, led by Tim Owen KC and Jonathan Crow CVO KC, and leading Tim James-Matthews and Elizabeth Walsh. Reflecting the consistent strength of her practice, Katherine was also counsel in the GIR “Development of the Year” for 2024 (National Crime Agency v World Uyghur Congress).
