Sam joined Chambers in October 2024.
Sam has a broad commercial and regulatory practice, having recently acted in matters involving construction, energy, international arbitration, financial services, aviation, insurance, and professional discipline.
Sam’s recent work includes several high-profile cases, such as ongoing ss. 90/90A FSMA proceedings against Glencore (one of The Lawyer’s top 20 cases for 2026) and acting for the respondent in her successful application to summarily dismiss a high-profile ‘SLAPPs’ prosecution in the SDT (SRA v Gill). Sam regularly acts as sole counsel in the High Court and County Court.
Sam acts (with Bankim Thanki KC, Adam Kramer KC, Nicolas Damjanovic, and Kit Holliday) for Aabar Holdings in Various Claimants v Glencore (Commercial Court). Glencore concerns claims under ss. 90 and 90A FSMA relating to Glencore’s prospectuses and published information and was included in The Lawyer’s top 20 cases for 2026.
Acting (with Richard Coleman KC) for the respondent in SRA v Gill in a high-profile test case for alleged ‘SLAPPs’ in the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. Sam acted in the respondent’s successful summary dismissal application, a rare instance in which certified SDT proceedings were dismissed without proceeding to a substantive hearing. Acting (with Rupert Allen KC) for the claimant in CIT v SpiceJet (Commercial Court). This included securing summary judgment on the liability issues in CIT’s ca. $47m claim, relating to unpaid rent and non-compliance with the contractual redelivery condition under an aircraft lease. The judgment of the Commercial Court on the summary judgment application can be found here.
Acting (with Anneliese KC) in Palm Cay Development v HNR Company, a construction appeal in the Court of Appeal of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Sam helped secure the dismissal of all 19 of the claimant’s grounds of appeal. The judgment of the Court of Appeal can be found here.
Acting (as sole counsel) for the claimant in an ongoing Chancery Division fraud claim relating to the sale of a classic car.
Drafting advice on merits of a claim arising out of the acquisition of a counterfeit Picasso painting (during pupillage).

Sam has also acted as sole counsel for banks and financial institutions in proceedings in the County Court.
Acting (with Laura John KC) for the claimants in ongoing proceedings concerning alleged breaches of share purchase warranties and directors’ duties (Chancery Division). The proceedings have also involved issues relating to W&I insurance and private credit.
Advising mezzanine noteholders in a major corporate insolvency.
Acting (with Anneliese Day KC) in a one-week gas price review arbitration (ICC).
